Agenda

This year’s Social Value Conference is built around a powerful and urgent theme: Mission Critical. Inspired loosely by Labour’s five missions, the agenda tackles the UK’s most pressing societal challenges and explores how Social Value can help deliver long-term, systemic change. Over three days, the conference brings together leaders from government, business, and the VCSE sector to explore how procurement, partnerships, and purpose can be used to create thriving, inclusive communities.

Day 1 (Online)

The opening day focuses on the public sector’s role in embedding Social Value across services and procurement. Sessions will explore how councils and local authorities can lead from the front, using Social Value to address deep-rooted issues like poverty, inequality, and community cohesion. Attendees will gain insights into what’s working on the ground and how to scale it.

Afternoon breakout sessions and masterclasses will offer practical tools and frameworks for turning Social Value from policy into action, demonstrating how procurement and cross-sector partnerships can become catalysts for long-term, place-based impact.

Day 2 (Online)

Day two explores how businesses and VCSEs can collaborate to drive mission-led impact. The morning focuses on the business case for Social Value: why it matters, how it supports growth, and how it aligns with long-term sustainability goals. Sessions will also explore how better engagement with the VCSE sector can unlock innovation, inclusion, and local impact.

The afternoon turns to practical implementation, with insights into what’s working across sectors and nations. A key theme throughout is unlocking potential through collaboration: removing barriers, sharing value, and ensuring Social Value is central to how we work, buy, and build.

Day 3 (Hybrid)

The final day brings the conference to life with an in-person programme focused on action, inclusion, and delivery. The agenda takes on some of the UK’s most urgent challenges, from social inequality and unemployment to rebuilding public trust. Sessions will spotlight how Social Value can address these issues through joined-up thinking across public services, business, and civil society. The day features powerful personal stories, policy reflections, and sector-wide insights.

The day ends with a celebration of progress and potential at the Social Value Awards, honouring the people and partnerships proving that Social Value is mission critical to our future.
